SRISTI EARLY INTERVENTION CENTER FOR AUTISM

Sristi has initiated the Early Intervention Centre for Children with Autism, a unit of Sristi Foundation, which is approved by the District Differently Abled Welfare Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The prevalence of autism has been steadily increasing over the years. According to recent studies, 1 in 60 children in the 0-6 age group have been diagnosed with autism.

By addressing challenges related to communication, social interaction and motor skills at an early stage lay a strong foundation for future growth and independence by enhancing the overall quality of life for both the children and their families but the lack of specialized centres dedicated to early interventions has left families grappling with limited options which often resulting in delayed or inadequate support.

The center’s primary objective is to offer high-quality, no-cost multidisciplinary interventions including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, behaviour analysis and special education support to meet the unique needs of each child.

This initiative is aimed at breaking down financial barriers and ensuring that all families, regardless of their economic status can access vital early intervention services. The center will create an inclusive and nurturing environment, collaborating closely with families to empower them with the skills and knowledge to support their children effectively.

By working collaboratively with educational institutions, ICDS and medical professionals the center will establish a network that maximizes its impact and promotes the overall well-being and development of children with ASD. Continuous assessment, feedback and improvement strategies will be integral to the center’s operation, ensuring that the children receive the best possible care and opportunities for growth without any financial burden.

Through Sristi Early Intervention Centre for Children with Autism we aim to fill this gap by offering a hope for families in Villupuram District.
